      RA56-cATM-BLY90 Appliance Transaction Module

OVERVIEW
The cATM™-BLY90 appliance transaction module makes it easier to migrate legacy ABB Bailey® Infi 90™ or Network 90™ DCS systems to ControlLogix® Process Automation Control (PAC) platforms from Rockwell Automation®. A straight-forward graphical interface allows you
to map ABB Bailey DCS data blocks into ControlLogix tags. Data can be transferred
bi-directionally between the two systems at configured rates.

The cATM-BLY90 appliance positions ControlLogix PACs for phased implementation to eliminate many of the costs, risks and complexities involved with migrating DCS systems. ControlLogix PACs provide a single platform for integrating both process and discrete applications. Once Bailey Infi 90 or Network 90 System data is available within a ControlLogix PAC, other Rockwell Automation applications such as FactoryTalk View® SE can be used for visualization of the data, alarming, and other functions.

No changes are required to the Bailey Infi 90 or Network 90 Systems enabling a phased migration as schedule and budget allow. The cATM-BLY90 appliance connects to the Bailey system through a Bailey CIU interface.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS

Packaged Solution

  • Appliance includes system and software applications:
      – The operating system is locked down.
      – Configure and go.

Easy Configuration

  • Configured with a remote desktop PC via an Ethernet 10/100T port:
      – No additional configuration software required
  • Simple, yet comprehensive tag mapping:
      – Includes attributes such as item names, description and data source.
      – Scaling conversion tables are available to convert raw or discrete values from one      system to the other.
  • All configurations are stored in the appliance in a compact flash memory:
      – Enables configurations to be imported, exported, backed up and restored, should the      module require replacement.

Flexible Data Handling

  • Supports DCS Block functions:
      – Exception report blocks.
      – Supervisory control of block data.
      – System status monitoring:
      – Problem report
      – General block output polling
      – Block configuration reading and tuning.
  • No hard tag limits:
      – There is no arbitrary limit to the number of ABB Bailey data blocks or the                              number of ControlLogix tags that can be configured. For optimum performance, a
single cATM-BLY90 appliance should be limited to 5,000 ABB Bailey data blocks.

ABB Bailey Database Conversion Tool

  • Available from Rockwell Automation.
  • Converts ABB Bailey tag database into CSV file for import into the cATM-BLY90             appliance and RSLogix 5000 programming software.
  • Runs on a PC.

Designed for Plant Floor Environment

  • Fanless operation:
      – Low noise.
      – Low maintenance.
  • Battery-backed memory:
    – Stores configurations after power down.
  • Operating temperature range of 0° to 60° C operating, and -40° to 80° non-operating.
  • Direct factory floor operation along with other ControlLogix modules.
  • Role-based security system:
      – Prevents unintended or unauthorized operation.
